REVIEW: Him by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

Title: Him
Author: Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy
Synopsis: They don’t play for the same team. Or do they? Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wise-cracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were eighteen? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died. Ryan Wesley’s biggest regret is coaxing his very straight friend into a bet that pushed the boundaries of their relationship. Now, with their college teams set to face off at the national championship, he’ll finally get a chance to apologize. But all it takes is one look at his longtime crush, and the ache is stronger than ever. Jamie has waited a long time for answers, but walks away with only more questions—can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it? When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend...and a big one to learn about himself.

I'm so in love with this book for so many reasons!

1.     I am a loyal fan of both Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy, and reading a collaboration from both completely blew my mind away.
2.     Hot hockey players x2 equals twice the fun
3.     Friends to enemies then to lovers plus gay for you plot is like my whole dream come true.
4.     M/M story from two amazing authors is a treat for my mind. I am a huge fan of m/m genre and being the witness to the breakout of two amazing authors into this genre brought me so much happiness.
5.     Dual point of view: I love getting into both characters ‘stories because it gives me the chance to appreciate the feelings at first hand.
6.      Steamy love/ sex scenes between two hunky sexy men is what dreams are made of.
7.     The realness of the story regarding the struggles gay sportsmen suffer daily is painful but at the same time eye-opening. It made me wonder how many people suffer in isolation because they can´t be who they really are, so depressing and heartbreaking.

To sum up, HIM was a treat to all my sense, I absolutely loved every minute of it but also cried. A book not only worth reading, but also worth having in your bookshelf. Wickedly amazing!!
