Title: The Bachelor Auction
Series: The Bachelors of Arizona #1
Author: Rachel Van Dyken
Release Date: October 4th, 2016

Synopsis:

Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes---or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire---maybe do exist.

Except Brock Wellington isn't anyone's dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk---even if it was just a façade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it's karmic retribution that he's tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can't have. But while they can't have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . .

I love Rachel Van Dyken and I've probably read most of her books. So of course I was all up for reading her latest release. I loved the beginning of the story but somehow with it's progression I was kind of loosing interest. I might of been in a reading mojo but it just felt that it was longer than it was supposed to be. But apart from that, it was actually fun and relaxing to read :)

The story in itself is a modern retelling of Cinderella and as such, it is entertaining with quite a few humorous scenes and some that are quite heartbreaking. The characters felt real and it was easy to relate to them. But at times, it felt like the same issues were repeated multiple times and it just made the story go slower than I would've liked.

In the end, it is a fun story to read and as any other RVD book, it is worth reading. But don't expect to be nailed to your seat and not being able to put the book down. I would say it is a pretty good relaxing evening read for the times when you are looking for something to take your mind off things :)
